About the Role and Your Responsibilities

The position of project manager for temporary public art involves the management and production of public art of a more temporary nature, as well as the management of Lund Municipality's art collection.

Facilitating public art is part of the role. The work is based at Lund Art Hall.

Your mission will be to work on the production of temporary public art of an urban character in Lund Municipality. We distinguish between permanent art, which is expected to last for seventy years or longer, and more temporary art that does not have a guaranteed lifespan of the same length, which can range from a few months to fifteen years. The more temporary public art is referred to as urban art, which also indicates that it has a different expression.

The work with temporary urban art is planned in collaboration with the art hall director, but it is you who drives it forward and is responsible for its implementation. The work is largely independent, but at the same time social, as it is based on close contacts both within and outside the municipal sphere. It is important to meet deadlines and adhere to the given budget.

In the work with Lund Municipality's art collection, you will work on documentation and updating the art register. We are a small workplace with few employees, with several varying tasks, and you will have colleagues who also work with public art in combination with other tasks. A close colleague will be the project manager for permanent public art, as well as our coordinating technician who is responsible for the art collection.

The art hall has several partners in other departments of the municipality, and in the production of public art, this primarily involves the Urban Planning Office and the Parks Department within the Technical Committee. They are involved in deciding the placement of newly produced art, while the selection of artworks is made by an external expert group that also includes representatives from the art hall.

If interested in a full-time position, this will involve serving as a host and guide during opening hours at the art hall.
